Success is a sweet thing, even if it comes in small doses.

This last week was full of successes, many of which I was able to share with my family.

For one, the publication I'm working for Minnesota Commercial Real Estate Magazine, had their launch party. Besides the complimentary sushi and martinis, and sprinkle of local celebrities (channel 5 news reporters!) the magazine was a huge success. With heavy cover paper, glossy photos and some seriously cool graphics, I was happy to have my byline in the pages. Furthermore, the editor commented that my article (An Insiders Guide) saying it was the most read section of the publication. Wonderful!

And today, I've had a number of pleasantries around my freelance writing.

For one, I'm now officially a small business with myself as the sole proprietor. Yay for bank accounts and the IRS!

For two, I'm writing queries to a number of woman's magazines as I want to write a feature story about my experiences growing up in Minneapolis.

For three, I'm helping Stop Genocide Now with their media campaign as they're currently recording the testimonies of refugees in Chad. Trying to get the word out about what's occurring in Darfur, Sudan. I very much wish I was with them, even though they're currently stranded in a sandstorm.

All in all, life is good, thanks in part to a lot of hard work.

Until tomorrow.
